Thank Goodness It’s Friday

My, oh my, what a long week this was!

I had friends over to watch the Eagles on Monday – cooked up chili, quinoa mac and cheese, potato skins, naisy’s jalapeno dip, spinach artichoke dip, and a 7 layer football field. Saw Bobby McGrath play on Tuesday. Attended the Christopher and Dana Reeva Foundation Gala on Wednesday (and played in the photo booth). And shuffled down to Philadelphia last night to see my sister’s art in the gallery at my high school (clothesline above!). I slept the whole Amtrak ride back to New York this morning, and am getting happier every minute we get closer to 6 o’clock. Because that means nap time, maybe a strong drink (I think I deserve one), and then dinner. But what’s most exciting is that tomorrow morning my alarm gets to be set for a time that’s after 6am… or maybe even turned off entirely! Cheers to the (freakin) weekend!

Thanksgiving

ImageOmg. How long has it been since I blogged? Don’t even answer that. Way too long. My deepest and most sincere apologies. I still have lots of fun things from October, and now November, to share… but for now, a little list of some things I am thankful for this Thanksgiving:

my family, my friends, my boyfriend, my boyfriend’s beard, down comforters, nail polish and lipstick, the NFL, sleep(ing in), naps, snoozing, today’s weather, our president, my dogs and all dogs, jokes and laughter, cheetah print, shamoo, jack daniel’s and diet coke, books, pop songs, dancing!, food to cook and food to eat, polka dots, glitter, cheese, kickball, pizza, new york city, all baby animals, all baby humans, flowers, elevators, hanky panky (the underwear and…the thing…), mason jars, dinosaurs, snuggling, miniature silverware, ice cream, gingham, gangnam, striped shirts, pajamas, …and life in general… it’s pretty effing good!

Vote!!

Make sure you vote today! I voted bright and early (was the 26th voter at my polling station) and then went for a quick (and chilly!) run along the East River, hoping to give off some good Obama vibes to NYC and beyond.

Etsy Crush

I go through phases where I become a bit obsessed with Etsy; suddenly half of my open tabs are different shops on the site and I’ve got an Etsy wishlist in mind. My most recent discovery was this shop of “small, affordable, contemporary paintings.” My favorites are below… Santa, are you listening?

What a month.

Although October raced by (how is it already November?!), it’s been quite a month! More to come on my perfect Fall weekend at Dad’s and the great Halloween party Brett and I hosted, but for now a few pictures of hurricane Sandy’s affect on New York City. It was an exhausting week, but I know I had it easy compared to many other New Yorkers. Best wishes to everyone affected by Sandy; can’t wait for New York to be back on her feet again.
