I’m thinking about asking for a new digital camera for my birthday…a somewhat shmancy one that I can use when my iPhone just doesn’t cut it. If the birthday fairies (aka my parents) do decide to grant my wish, I’m obviously going to need this camera strap. Had I not wanted a camera before I saw this strap, I’d definitely want one now…pretty sure it’s meant to be. Let the birthday countdown begin!
I spent the first half of last week in New Mexico with my family. It was the perfect long weekend with a good balance of activity, culture, and time to relax.
My favorite part of the trip was our visit to Bandeleir National Monument where we saw petroglyphs, standing walls, and cave dwellings (my favorite) dating back as far as 11,000 years!
We also spent time walking around the galleries and shops in Santa Fe’s main square, where I picked up some goodies for the apartment. We made a quick visit to the Georgie O’Keeefe museum which showcased some of her lesser-known paintings of the New Mexico landscape. We popped inside the Loretto Chapel to see the famous “mystery staircase” (apparently built by St. Joseph himself!) and, of course, ate our fair share of tacos, burritos, and New Mexican chile sauces.
PS I also got this amazing view of Manhattan on my way out of the city : )
Have you ever seen a cuter or more uncomfortable-seeming sleeping position? Bet you can’t even handle it.
Apparently adult giraffes sleep standing up 95% of the time, and only sleep about 4-5 hours a day. Clearly I wasn’t a giraffe in a past life, because I could use about 10 hours a day and all of them need to be horizontal.
And just like that, it’s July! It’s definitely, finally summer here in the city — alternating between days where you can’t seem to escape the heat, and days of seemingly endless rain (like today – lovely.) Oh New York and the way you treat us during the summer! Looking forward to kicking off the month with a trip to the Berkshires for the 4th, followed by a mid-month trip to DC, and finishing off the month by hosting a Summer Cocktail party with Brett – pretty good monthly plan if I do say so myself. And, of course, blogging more because I know I’ve been MIA and you miss me.
