And one last Happy Halloween post

I know, I know, this is turning into a Halloween blog. But I had to share the cutest, spookiest dinner and treats from my actual Halloween dinner at home. Dana made olive bugs and mummified pigs in a blanket, my mom made eyeball tomato soup and baked grilled cheeses, and I made mini pumpkin pies and stuck some skeletons into them (no surprises there). We also turned a cheese ball into a bat!

Olive Bugs: Use rosemary for the legs (you may need to use a sharp knife to puncture the olive first), and a caper for the head. Dana used a small piece of rosemary to attach the caper to the olive.

Mini Pumpkin Pies: Cut a normal pie crust into four equal pieces and press them into ramekins. I followed the pumpkin pie recipe on a can of Libby’s, but ended up having to throw most of it away – next time I’ll at least half the recipe! Bake at 350F for 25-30 minutes, until pumpkin has set.

Eyeball Tomato Soup: My mom made homemade tomato soup, and then created eyeballs using mini balls of mozzarella – she scooped them out and use green olive slice for the iris and pupil.
