As much as I love brunch on the weekends, I always find that a homemade breakfast is such a treat. Brett and I made breakfast burritos on Saturday and opted for a sweet treat on Sunday: french toast with caramelized bananas. I’ve caramelized bananas before using only butter (delicious, delicious butter), but tried something new this time — once the bananas had browned on both sides, I turned off the heat and poured a mixture of honey, brown sugar and cinnamon on top. It sizzled and bubbled like crazy, but gave the bananas a little added sweetness in the end.
